About Trinity Grading

  • As an operator at Trinity Grading, you will be responsible for helping to lead the crew by adhering to our guiding principles of safety, production, quality, training, and mentoring. You will play a key role in achieving our daily plan set by the Foreman, ensuring that the equipment is clean, fueled, and greased and that the machine is operated with the correct cycle time, load capacity, and capabilities, taking into account the conditions.
  • Safety is of the utmost importance, and you will be expected to operate in accordance with all Trinity Grading’s regulatory policies and rules to maintain a safe and accident-free job site. By conforming to these duties and responsibilities, you will help ensure that we deliver high-quality work to our clients while maintaining a safe and productive work environment for our team.

About the Position

  • Arrive onsite, on time, and prepared with proper PPE
  • Be able to thoroughly inspect machinery fluid capacities, hours, tire pressure, bucket/teeth wear, any damage on a daily basis and maintain an equipment checklist
  • Be able to follow foreman and leadman directions in order to maintain productivity on a daily basis
  • Ensure you have a clear understanding of scope and materials, conflicts that can be identified prior to excavating; this includes utility crossings, any obstacles that will impede production or unsafe conditions
  • Familiar with OSHA excavation methods to include sloping, benching, shoring, slide shoring, box shields etc.
  • Able to identify and communicate unsafe conditions to the crew to avoid potential dangers
  • When excavating around utilities and possible crossings always use a spotter and have had utilities potholed prior to excavating (no machine dig within 3 feet of utilities)
  • Knowledge and understanding of equipment limitations and lift capacities
  • Knowledge of proper rigging, inspection of rigging equipment and overseeing rigging practices when lifting with equipment (Recommended certified rigging training)

  • Identify soil conditions and dig accordingly
  • Knowledge of proper moisture and compaction methods
  • Fuel, grease, and clean equipment on a daily basis
  • Report any damage to foreman immediately
  • Ensure you are aware of foreseeing next steps by maintaining proper communication with foreman/leadman
  • Keeping jobsite materials clean and organized

The work hours and schedule at Trinity Grading vary based on your role and the specific project you are assigned to. Typically, projects adhere to a Monday through Friday daytime work schedule, but there may be instances where night or weekend work is necessary.
