About the Position

  • Read and understand plans
  • Follow detailed instruction provided by the Foreman to lay out crew and keep everyone working efficiently to accomplish production daily goals, while looking ahead to know where the work is going
  • Maintain Quality Control for all pipe installations and ensure they are to company standards
  • Inventory materials as they get delivered and communicate with foreman if items are back ordered
  • Be planned out for materials for the next couple days
  • Able to set up a sloping laser and grade a trench line as well as use hot elevations to shoot in as built elevations
  • Can teach crew members how to install pipe
  • Can properly install and bolt up all fittings and pipe joint types
  • Can properly use in a safe and productive manner power tools to install and cut pipe
  • Keeps digging machine moving at a productive pace and digging to the correct grades and line
  • Knows OSHA trench guidelines and reports trench conditions to the foreman
  • Keeps foreman up to speed on progress and marks up plans of completed areas and as built changes
  • Keeps foreman up to speed on supplies and aggregates and when they are getting low
  • Knows how to lay out the crew and have material and spoil areas properly laid out
  • Can do take offs of materials needed
  • Double checks elevations and plans and survey stakes to make sure they are correct

  • As a Pipe Layer at Trinity Grading, you will assist in leading the crew by prioritizing safety, production, quality, and training principles. You will ensure that proper soil type classification and trenching methods are used, and communicate any conflicts in upcoming work to the Foreman. You will be responsible for maintaining an accurate and undamaged inventory of materials, and ensuring that they are staged properly. You will also ensure quality installation by verifying that it aligns with plans and specifications. Additionally, you will play a key role in training future pipe layers while maintaining a high level of personal performance. Your commitment to these duties will help us to maintain a safe and efficient job site, and deliver high-quality work to our clients.

The work hours and schedule at Trinity Grading vary based on your role and the specific project you are assigned to. Typically, projects adhere to a Monday through Friday daytime work schedule, but there may be instances where night or weekend work is necessary.
